Now there’s a true friend.:He didn’t even have to lie; he didn’t say he needed the extinguisher, he just asked where it was.

Mrs. Mutt is still wearing a hat and gloves when she goes out, so it COULD be the late 50s – but that TV set looks more like the early 60s.

It’s a transitional strip at any rate. Still says Bud Fisher up top while Al Smith is already signing it. And there are still traces of the Fisher style in Smith’s art- he hasn’t made it entirely his own yet. It’s hard to be sure, though, by the way a cartoonist draws a TV. In a 40’s Krazy Kat, well before most homes even had television. Offisa Pup is watching a TV with a large, flat screen and- if I remember right- a color picture. A forecast of HDTV!

I remember when people used to visit like that. Oh well, just another thing that’s gone..like men wearing hats and women wearing gloves, and going for a “ride” in the car on Sundays. The trappings of a bygone era…

Once again the color here is so much better than all my other Sunday comics.

Why’d they go visit those folks in the first place. Neither of them seem to like the other two.

…As I’ve said – Are the Sundays left with their original dialogue , unlike the dailies offered here , which I’ve seen other folks with greater knowledge of Espanol argue are now translated back into English FROM the Spanish versions ? And bear unfortunate colorization !!!!! ( And for my taste could stand to use more Al Smith-signed era strips . ) I suppose they simply reproduce the original color paltte here somehow .It’s a shame they can’t use the original topper strip , " CICERO’S CAT " , apparently . The Sunday must post date the time that Sunday strips starting being designed so that part of the Sunday could be lopped off if the newspaper wanted – You’ll note that the joke makes sesee with just the bottom 2/3s .

As I recall, some cell phones had a button you could push and it would ring a minute later so you could exit gracefully?
