Kylie, when you say you are going to increase spending by 10% and then only increase it by 5%, that is not a cut! If a family is getting ready to go bankrupt, would you suggest they solve the situation by going out and getting another credit card and running it up to its limit? That is exactly what Barry-O and the idiots in congress are doing by raising the debt ceiling. They need to REALLY cut spending, stop building roads to nowhere, and get rid of this idiotic “Obama-care.”
@indieme Where do you get the “fact” about cutting the deficit 4 years in a row? Nothing has been cut in the deficit, it is growing. No budget has been passed in 4 years. And I am a Democrat, at least until this last election.
FDR was one of the worse presidents in history. Obama is slightly less bad, but it isn’t a high bar. Your graphs just show that Obama is “good” at meeting lowered expectations. His “best” year is about the same as Bush II’s worse year.
FDR did nothing to end the Depression. He just made it longer. His own Treasury Secretary lamented that we spent billions, but had nothing to show for it.
Remember the Great Depression of 1921? I didn’t think so. It was actually worse than the depression of 1932, but no one remembers it because the government didn’t intervene to try to “fix” it, and it was over in 2 years.
