Given that Roosevelt inherited a bad economy in 1932 and made it even worse for the duration of the 1930’s, your comparing him to Obama is most apt.

Given that taxes are actually higher and about to get higher, no facts were presented to back your point.

Well, the two have a lot in common: both are presiding over the longest stretches of economic misery in American history due to their policies.

you can tell who is a conservative, but you cannot tell them much. In other words, conservatives know a lot – most of it is wrong.

I grew up during the 30s. Parents thought Roosevelt was god and would fix everything. Even at that age I could figure out I was hungry trying to sell magazines door to door and Roosevelt was pedaling a crock of crap.Nothing got better ’til WW II

If the wealthy in this country really did create jobs, I’d gladly give them their tax breaks but they took the tax breaks, off-shored profits and outsourced jobs leaving many of us unemployed or under-employed.

Sorry dude, the huge history fail is all you. The depression wasn’t one long miasma of economic misery. It had moments when the economy tried to rebound, but because of Roosevelt’s policies, it would crash again. the crashes of 1934, 1936 and 1937 resulted in new rounds of massive unemployment. You are certainly entitled to your own opinion, but not your own facts.

Actually, you might consider getting your economic information from someone other than Paul Krugman. The depression of the 1930’s (nothing great about it) was the result of bad federal reserve policy in 1929. To the extent the Fed at the time was on the GOP watch they certainly deserve the blame, but intellectual honesty would compel you to admit that the point you brought up out of the blue had nothing to do with previous conversations.
