it is a small wonder that these two don’t have 12 children.

Can’t imagine any married man doing this. No way no how.

I used to write love notes to my wife – she never even acknowledged them. I’d give her one of those blank cards with a note in it – she’d never even bother to open them. So I gave up.

Wow Larry. It’s hard to imagine any woman not appreciating a love note. Sorry to hear. I know I would love one or two. lol

I write my husband love notes frequently. I know he reads them and he enjoys them, but he does not send me love notes in return. He very rarely lets me know what he is thinking and he is just not a very romantic or open. Oh well, true love is not about romance.

I, too, tried to write love notes to my dear wife. She didn’t like them and called them mash notes. I never bothered her again. Too bad. Still married after 37 years tho.

Can’t imagine why you read a comic about parents who love each other; not much love in your remark. If every wife is a shrew according to you, then every hubby must be a wife beater.

Some people, I’ve noticed, never use conventional expressions of love (or even regard), but may show it in unexpected ways. One of them didn’t say anything when she learned we were leaving after a several-days’ visit, like “I’m sorry you’re having to leave so soon” or “I enjoyed your visit.” But her eyes dilated. She’ll buy a birthday card for someone, but will not put the recipient’s name on the envelope. One of her children is the same way. If you gave them a love note, you’d get a blank stare. You won’t get any love notes from them, either, but you’ may see their love in very subtle ways.

This is what marriage is suppose to be like.

This is what love is like.

After forty-six years I still get lovenotes.

And I send them too.

I’m gonna be perfectly honest: I couldn’t care LESS about “carbon footprints.” I’ll eventually die, and it won’t matter what the planet’s condition is wherever I go, I’ll have OTHER things to be concerned with. I do, however, like clean spaces for ME to enjoy while here (clean water for drinking and fishing, clean land for food and walks and hunting and what not. :) ).

That said, I like the way these two interact with each other and the world. Shows that humanity isn’t ALL doom and gloom.
