When I pasted it into the reply box, it was formatted correctly. I don’t know what happened.Since there is no way to edit a post, I was pretty much out of luck at that point. If you know of a way to edit it, tell me and I will happily do so.There was no need to imply that I was being lazy.

Sometimes the spaces disappear when you ‘submit’. And who cares – it was cute and fit the comic. I understood it – even if some can’t.

For some reason, Gocomics reduces double return to single ones, and single returns to none.

So to get a hard return, you need to use two.

Also, if you put in more than two, it only gives a single return, unless you put something on the line.

    .

Like a non-breaking space or period.

    See?

    bmonk…. and anybody else interested….
or
give you a paragraph break…Hit enter once or twice and put one of those at the beginning of the next line.Strangely, whether you put in a blank line before them or not, they sometimes put in a single empty line and sometimes a wider space.

For a poem, though, you only want that between verses…between lines, as bmonk said, “enter enter” will do.It’ll look like there’s a blank line between but it won’t post that way…. it will come out on the very next line like this

    stuff

    does.

Sometimes just ONE "enter"will make it post on the next line…. but sometimes not.Touchy thing, this forum.

If it would have shown up in the comments box the way it was printed after submission, I would have done that. The problem was when I entered it, it looked correct. It wasn’t jumbled together like it wound up.
