In the darkness of my stateroom, I played Karen Carpenter’s songs. Her sweet voice would remind me after another day of insanity on Yankee Station, there was still love and humanity somewhere in the world. When she died from an eating disorder, I couldn’t understand why such a thin woman would think she was fat. But I remember you in your high school senior year. How upset you were about that weight gain. You still had that pretty face. More important, you had such a beautiful soul. Why do you carry that illusion about yourself for almost 50 years? Who is going to rescue you from those tasteless rice cakes?

SIX suitcases for One week! =-O Besides, Cathy, I think Irving won’t care What you are wearing, but just the fact that You will be traveling with Him! (And your dogs, of course, to act as chaperones…). I hope everyone has a mellow Thursday! ;)

Let’s see, for a summer trip:
1 sundress which can be dressed up for evening with a wrap,1 sarong & flirty tank top set and a sun hat1 bathing suit and a cover-upSunblock and an umbrella.2 pr shorts (or 1 pr shorts & 1 pr long – depends on what you are wearing)1 easy to pack goes-with-everything skirt2 tee shirts (if you wear those, I prefer sleeveless shells with camp shirts)1 cardigan sweater.1 pr nice sandals. They work both for day or for dress up.1 pr sneakers or comfortable walking shoes (or you can just wear those)socks to wear with your sneakersextra undies
Don’t forget a nightie (your swim suit cover-up can work extra as a robe.)
Remember to count the clothes you are wearing as an extra outfit.
Bet you bring home something unworn.

No matter what you bring, you always end up having to buy something because you can’t anticipate everything you’ll need. We used to travel with one full bag and one empty for the stuff we’d buy, but that was before you got charged so much for the additional suitcase…
