Hire a travel agent. I don’t care what it cost as long as she is happy. I don’t enjoy vacations.

If you don’t get too caught up in a buck or two that you might save, it’s not hard to price check these days. It’s all expensive these days, and the only ones benefitting are the airlines. I should know… I’m sitting here at the airport. :-)Just finished a quick trip to see my mom before we move. I’m very glad I was able to squeeze this in. I love my mom! Hope you all are doing well, friends! We’re on the last few days before we leave. I will be relieved when this is finally done!

Since we don’t go on vacation anywhere our dog [and all the stuff she needs] can’t go, we save tons of money on airline flights by taking road trips instead. Much more relaxing and a lot less stressful that way!
Hi, rgcviper!
lightenup: P.S.: So glad, Sis, that you found the time to check in with us today. Hope to “see” you here again one last time before you leave for Spain on Thursday!!!

Heh, it took a very long time to plan my trip to Australia. It was my first time there, and I went solo without a group or host, so I really had to make sure I did all my research beforehand so it would be a successful trip.

The old ME would have feared about all the problems in marrying my beloved wife. War changed me. The first person I saw killed was an A-7 driver. It was a cold cat, no stream in the catapult. His plane rolled right off the front. We were going 30 knots so the carrier crushed the plane. Before, the air boss screamed at him to punch out. He would have landed behind us. The life is fragile. When I met my wife, she spoke no English, little education and no papers. But she had this powerful heart, fill with love. I would move mountains for her. I quietly left my naval career. Forty years later, I would still do it for our love. Her love gave me a family and a full life.

As for Cathy — it’s because we can “take it all with us” now — and mgmt. expects us to do that. Leave it home when you go on vacation.

This strip came at an excellent time – just finished booking flights to Orlando in August and Phoenix in October. Did not price check at all – deal mostly with one airline and always stay at the conference hotel in Phoenix. I tried doing the price comparison once and discovered that after taxes and fees most airlines were within a few dollars of each other. Add this to the fact that only one airline serves the airport closest to us, and changing airlines in Toronto is a pain, and it only makes sense to not shop around. lightenup I too am glad you got to see your Mom before you left. Have a safe trip on Thursday – and try not to get too stressed before then.
