TJ, for all of his stupid or evil scheming, at least has some substance to him. And I think everyone (except for Levi) was rooting him to beat Ann. Tiffany would not have helped with the v day dinner as TJ did or cook meals for others. Tiffany is truly a waste of ink.

ChihuahuaMama: The technical show-biz term is “talking woman” – to distinguish from show girls, singers, dancers, strippers, etc. which deliver no lines, and comediennes who deliver the punch line. Yes, I know Gypsy Rose Lee’s gimmick was reciting doggerel while ecdesisizing, but she was an exception in many ways, including not only knowing, but using ecdesis to describe her occupation (term invented by H. L. Mencken).

Tiff is needed as a contrast to the other – more real – characters. However once in a great while – I wish Greg would let her surprise us with something generous or intelligent.

Lonnie is quite correct, Gunther is extremely lame. There were great reasons why he lost the vote to someone as inconsequential as Aaron. Gunther is less than that.

If Tiff’s going to lure Quill to Pittsville in the summer, we could be waiting a very long time to see something happen. Unless Quill really =does= show up this actual summer—which is still a few months away. Will something happen before then with this whatever-she’s-planning?

And how could Tiff possibly not know that Quill’s coming in the summer anyway, since Luann’s been blabbing about nothing but Quill morning, noon and night? She has to know.

Tiffany is the typical dumb blond type of female that tends to appeal to macho males; IMHO, that’s why she’s included in the strip. Such women seem to ‘win out’ every time in attracting the handsome hero of the play etc. They also tend to be portrayed as getting into the most trouble in books and plays and always in need of a dire rescue at the last moment. They tend to create drama and attract readership. Judging by the 97 responses above, the strategy is still working.

Re: Crystal’s friendship with Tiffany…..a) she feels sorry for Tiffany and her lack of friends b) she also hopes to meet the good-looking guys who are attracted to Tiff c) since she does her own thing, perhaps Crystal can’t seem to attract a guy who would appreciate her for herself and d) she doesn’t feel she fits in with the regulars…or…all of the above.

That said, there is a Tiffany and a Crystal in every group of students at various grade levels. For a while, my granddaughter was a ‘Chrystal’, now she’s a ‘Luann’ with a very artsy side.

She could probably just get pregnant by him.
