Sorry, the story line is so implausible, even I can’t believe it. Schools generally will close if >50% of the student population is out sick. If there are other students in the same grade, they’ll combine it to one class, and then only if they can’t contact parents or guardians to pick them up. Then there will be art, music, some review, but generally no real teaching.

Again, it’s a joke. Yes, John and I bat these things around sometimes, deciding what crosses the line. But this is within thee parameters of allowability for a gag strip. Exaggeration is funny. It only goes to far if it becomes out and out misinformation.

Question: Has anyone EVER had to use fractions outside of school? I can’t ever remember saying, I just cut a pie in 6/6, and we have 4 kids. Hopw many piece of the pie will be left?"

Ms. Payne is so loving this!! She’s getting Maria back for some of those times when Maria asked the craziest of questions. LOL!!@ Dragon0131 – Take it easy, it’s a comic and it’s a good story line. As Scott said, it’s an exaggeration (like most comics) so that it will be funny. If you want realistic, go read Mary Worth (and even that is not entirely realistic).

I don’t think so. Comic Minister was no doubt concerned that Maria might lose her mouth…
