Doc, you’ve got that right. Plus no one gives a damn about their opinion. Don’t like the politician? Vote. Didn’t vote? Shut up! Either way, keep it to yourself.
Not the editorial page, Tony. Everyone in comics should keep their political comments to themselves. Sad to read the same extremist posts here that litter every news story on the web.
Wickedly clever, frankly unexpected, even though I read the comic daily for the Jaffee-esque one-liners. I see from comments above that your leftist readers, per the stereotype, have no sense of humor.
Jbmlaw, I don’t consider myself a leftist, just someone who gets more than enough political bashing info from the lefties and righties on the editorial pages, television, radio, websites, etc. it’s nice to be able to read something and just laugh. There are many ways to make people laugh without bringing up politics and the assorted whack jobs and trolls who love to bash and argue. Today’s cartoon belongs on the editorial page. Pearls and Get Fuzzy manage to do politics in a way that makes fun of BOTH sides or politics in general. This did not.
I am sure had a comic like this been done for George W. Bush in 2005 or Ronald Reagan in 1985, the cartoonist would be receiving the same comments, that, like Doonesbury, it belongs on the editorial page.
My oh my, somebody sure felt like stirring the pot today. I found it funny, but see what you did Tony. Shame on you. :-DNo Phil did not see his shadow today and with our crazy weather here…..it could be 70 tomorrow and a blizzard the day after.
Some people want you to keep your political comments to yourself. Yet, if the comic fit their view, they would probably praise it. For the record, I liked it.
Anyway, 4 more years is a scary thought – so scary that you could use it again at Halloween.

Don’t know yet and probably won’t know until well after it’s all over.

I have to admit I didn’t get the groundhog joke until reading Tony’s question du jour.

“I just hope he does not completely destroy our country…” He can’t. W beat him to it. (W also initiated the President-as-King idea.)

Not the venue for this. Your comic has been fun but no more for me since you used it for this.

We should push him down so far in the ground he will never get to the surface thus making our country fine again

Haven’t even heard from Lander Lil, the prairie dog who predicts whether Wyoming will get more or less than 6 feet of snow between now and June.

Brouhard is right! Keep it to the story line and stop playing Political Cartoonist.

WAIT, I TAKE THAT BACK! I DON’T WANT TO DO THAT TO PHIL, POOR LITTLE INNOCENT GROUNDHOG!

Phil saw his shadow in New England. I saw mine too.

Some of those who didn’t want a political issue here today are the ones who turned it into one, me thinks.
