Basically, the word means “turned the wrong way”; “ward” being in the direction of.
“Painful awkwardness” is pretty much the roadmap of Gary’s life in suburbia….
I wonder what was so funny …
Don’t call attention to his calling attention.
I wanted to bring your attention to that.
If calling attention to the good mood put an end to it, shouldn’t calling attention to the awkwardness put an end to that? Somehow, it just doesn’t work the same.
