Akenta about 2 1/2 hours from here, roughly 109 miles. I guess Phil predicts an early spring. Oldest and a friend went up there so they could get in on the festivities. I want to hear his report! I am amazed he got up that early on a day off to go up there! LOL!
Hola Locos.Happy Saturday Akenta! Our famous Groundhog, “Wiarton Willie” became even more famous years ago when he died in his burrow and they tried to pass off another Groundhog as Willie. What a scandel. When it became known, they posted photos of the real “Willie” in a tiny coffin, and then said that his predecessor was a son or nephew or something. Willie the second, third, fourth. Take your pick, lol.I believe that was the start of all our strange weather. It is not nice to play Groundhog God. The real G-G has taken revenge on the foolish mortals of Wiarton.
Of course, we can always looks to our southern neighbours to see what Phil says, but that it risky too, as Phil can’t see his shadow all the way up here in Canada. :-)
Shika, I really like the BlackBerry, so much that I almost took the new Droid back today. My fear is that if BlackBerry goes under then I will be left hanging. But, again, I almost took the new one back to wait for BlackBerry 10. I still have 12 days to change my mind.
Long day of work today. Last April when I was out to visit Boston, we drove back to the Ground Hog area, I don’t know how to spell the name haha, it was pretty plain and boring without the festivities, but we had a nice quaint hotel, so that was cool.
Oldest and 8 of his friends got up early today and drove up there for the festivities.I was amazed he got up that early on his day off, LOL! It was 8 degrees up there, and they all were layered with thermals, etc. His story was quite funny and too long to tell here, but it was a real HOOT apparently! Very interesting how they do the Groundhog Day events. Apparently, the Festivities start around 3 AM. My son said there was a section for Family and a section for College Students. He said most of the College Students were “drunk as skunks”! He said everyone met in a WALMART, (I ESPECIALLY EMPHASIZE WALMART FOR YOU MARG, LOL) parking lot, and school busses took them up to Gobblers Knob, because it is way up in the woods. There were cars in the Walmart parking lot from every state surrounding ours! The way my son told the story, WE LAUGHED OUR A@@ OFF! Then they came upon someone FROM LYNCHBURG, VA WHO WANTED TO KNOW WHEN PHIL WOULD PREDICT THE FORECAST! They drove all that way for Groundhog Day and it was 9 am when they ran into this family! LOL!

If the groundhog was in my neck of the woods, he would have seen his shadow.

JFri, I see what you mean. It isn’t as though you can buy one just for a momento of RIM, should RIM become RIP.
Is the droid that bad?
