I would hate to have the flu while recovering from a gun shot. Throwing up with stitches in the abdomen is painful to think about.Good toon. Makes us think about both issues.Respectfully,C.
My daughter is a nurse. They moved to New Zealand (where people CAN own guns, but the owners are registered) and she’s noted that in tow years, hasn’t seen a gunshot injury in the ER. In the states, there were at least a couple a month, and that was NOT related to “mental patients gone bad”, just “everyday life” (and death) in America.
What we should do is abolish a lot of those pesky gun free zones, starting with the halls of Congress. -I say EVERY Congressman and Congresswoman should be issued any and every weapon they desire and be allowed to carry it openly or concealed anywhere in the halls or offices of Congress. The same should exist for staffers as well. -By golly, if someone wants to kill a filibuster, they’ll have the means to do it. -Since Congress would be so well self-protected, there would be no need to screen visitors, etc. -It might cost a little more for health care initially, but it would save more in the long run on pensions.
^A very valid point, as D.C. also has gun sources in abundance “at the doorstep”, just as New York City does. We don’t have restrictive internal borders and “checkpoints” in this nation, which was also addressed in the Constitution, for good reason, overall.
