I think it’s a goverment plot to keep us b*&^hing about the little thing so we will not notice that they are spending our money like it is going out of style
Or the person at the grocery store who waits until everything is rung up to look for the check book, cash or credit card. And the one’s paying with cash always have to look for exact change in their pockets or worse, their purse.
Worse is the person in line on a cell phone, gabbing away idly, and then when he gets to the front of the line has to stand and think about what he wants. . .
These things bother me, too. All the time. Except that now I’m getting old, and I’m amazed when occasionally it doesn’t occur to me to get out my money or decide what I want until I’m asked. It’s really irritating, but it’s a gradually increasing occurrence.
The same with slow drivers. It always irritated me when I got behind someone going slower than the speed limit, or even actually going the speed limit. Now, occasionally I have a hard time keeping up with the movements of cars on a busy street, and I have to slow down to make sure I don’t hit someone or miss my turn.
So don’t be too hard on them. They’re probably doing the best they can. And you may be there someday — in fact it’s a lot better than the alternative!
I sometimes wonder if I have a moral duty to warn those in front of me that by being in front of ME they greatly increase their risk of having some time-consuming problem, and that their risk would be greatly decreased by letting me go first.
