Back in the late 1880s, a series of terrible unsolved “murders most foul” were committed, in Whitechapel, by an unknown person, or persons that history recalls only as “Jack the Ripper”; Police at Scotland Yard were helpless to stop the madman, who stalked women in the night! With no other recourse, Inspector James Gordon called on the one man who could help him solve the case, Sherlock Capp (Along with his trusty ward, Buster)!

Needless to say, the Whitechapel murders remain unsolved to this very day!

There used be be a tradition in many bars and pubs of setting the clocks ahead about seven minutes, in order to begin the closing earlier and get the drinks up before the “real” deadline.Customers coming into the bar would often look up at the clock and ask: " Is that real time or bar time ? "

@MikeyjInstead of “The Great Mouse Detective” Sherlock Capp would probably be “the great soused detective”!//(Btw my avatar was created by a friend of mine who is an artist, based on my own private eye, named Jock Justice. I write a series of stories in a parody of the hard-boiled detective style. A lot of them are based on holidays, and of course in this one he met a leprechaun.)

I had freckles, curly fair hair which I had to wear in a short back and sides style which meant that I looked like a poodle on top. When my mother died I started growing my hair until it hurt when I sat on it..My step mother used to tell me to cut it but when I did she said “But it was so lovely all long and curly – why did you do it?” Can’t win.
