I was amazed to speak to an intelligent, educated, white 20-something who didn’t know what an afro is. Don’t they teach kids anything in school anymore?

When my son asks for something like that I tell him when you graduate high school, college, get a job, and get married…you can have anything your wife says you can have. :)

Have known one particular middle-schooler who would not cut his hair all school year. Had an incredibly huge ’fro come June.

So dad is saying you gotta have money to NOT spend it? I am able to not buy haircuts all day, and am no deeper in debt at the end of the day. Hmmm..

Why does one need money to grow a fro? What he really is saying is, “I’m the parent and you wear your hair the way I say you should.”

I have to admit that I miss Joe’s and Marcy’s old hairstyles, which you can still see in the top banner on this page.

Will Smith would definitely be cast to play Joe in the live-action version.

pschearer: “Black studies” have been banned. Only dead white male imperialists may be studied. Next up for the curriculum, “The Glories of Slavery”. I had to study that back in the Jim Crow days.
