Hah. I never forgot a holiday, a birthday, an anniversary, or bupkis. Unlike some others I knew. My first marriage still went down the sewer. Fortunately, my second one is gigajoules better.

I’m hoping Quill does send Luann a card, with 2 words on it: “IT’S OVER”! Well, technically that’s 3 words but, it’s written as two

Pfft Its a total myth that guys have some kind of gender thing that makes them forget Valentines day. They don’t forget, some of them just ignore it. For any number of reasons, maybe they just don’t have a clue what to do that day or they are scared they’ll do something “wrong” with what they do try. If remembering dates is that important to ya, do what I did. Wait and marry a guy who remembers dates better than I do.And make for darn sure he knows what ever he chooses to do about the date you won’t put him down for it.

Valentines day will only go away if everyone ignores it. It is a forced holiday with no merit to it, like having to spend two to three months salary on a ring. Pure foolishness.

Not getting paid??? BS! She seems to be getting "paid " quite well. Total support and (in most cases), majority control of the family (husband’s), income sure looks like “paid” to me.

I am not sure if Valentine’s Day is even celebrated in Australia. Or will Louann be held accountable for Anzac Day as well?

I forget almost every single anniversary, and miss every birthday including my own. I am very lucky that my husband forgives me year after year. I did ask if he wanted to do something special fora our anniversary this year, since it’ll be our 10th. And asked for credit in advance that I noticed what year it was, because sure as shoot, when it rolls around, I’ll have forgotten again.

I have been happily married to the best guy in the universe for 25+ years, and we both forget anniversaries and birthdays. The trick is to make everyday life worthwhile.

We don’t celebrate Valentine’s day in my house. Not that I have a problem with it but I just feel that anything he does for me on that day would actually be more special to me if he does it on a whim…so his unexpected acts are much more appreciated.

Of course Luann’s parents show their love every day through their commitments to each other and their home. Nothing wrong with taking a day off to show it through chocolate and a nice dinner for a change.

I forgot Valentine’s Day one year and my husband was hurt. We don’t buy stuff, though. We make each other cards and they’re always funny and sweet and mean a lot more than a store-bought card or gift could ever mean.

My husband and I would go to the store and each pick out a card. We’d exchange them, read them, put them back and spend the money on a pitcher of beer.

This woman would be more than happy to see the fake holidays all disappear. It isn’t just men that don’t like the forced “celebrations”.

I realize that some of the anti-woman hostility is coming from trollers, but not for the first time I find myself wondering why the posters who have expressed such bitterness towards women follow a strip about a high school girl. There are tons of male centered comics out there for you to enjoy.

take it from a woman’s perspective. some of us do NOT care if we dont get fine jewelry, candy, etc….being told vocally. as well as being paid attention to counts more.but there are women who were brought up to value possessions over that. and there are women who value both as a expression of love.plus, as for the house. many a man has his pride. to him, being able to provide for his family is part of his manly pride. this includes repair of anything broken around the house.as for Nancy, she shows it by keeping the house clean, his clothes washed, and good solid food on the table. since she is a housewife.

Still remember the time we bought each other the very same card. I started to pull the one he’d gotten me out of the envelope and as soon as I spotted what it was, I started laughing.

I have been married over fifty years. Never a card for any occasion , but I do have Abigail house, drive a new Cadillac and have lots of nice jewelry. He will say buy what you want for Christmas, birthday, etc and I do! Works for me!! That should be a big house.. I also don’t type very well and never read until I’m finished. You would think I would learn.

Then explain the point of affirmative action, whereby many vastly more qualified male candidates are bypassed for jobs or promotions solely because the company needs to fill some arbitrary gender quota, even though the female candidate who gets the job or the promotion isn’t nearly as qualified for it as the male candidate. That’s what Nabudquduriuzhur was complaining about, and he’s got a point, in my opinion. Men don’t really have a problem with the concept of “equal pay for equal work” — it’s the concept of arbitrary reverse gender discrimination that itself creates the very inequity it was supposed to resolve that we have issues with.

May the woman in your life (if there should be one, considering your attitude) stop doing all she does. Then you can work your attitude off. Please do women a favor and swear off of them.

true feminism allows the woman to choose what they want to do. be it a outside job. or to be a housewife. and the ability to change our minds if we feel that we would be better off doing something else.
