Mayflies tend to take things one day at a time.

Mayflies are wispy little creatures with thin curved bodies that cover the areas around ponds in late spring. The wind blows them around and they get onto everything. They are ephemeral, just our comments are in GoComics..For Ben Franklin’s short work, “The Emphera” see:.http://www.bartleby.com/109/1.html

Maylies pupate under water as nymphs, cicades underground, yes – as naiads.

If mayflies lived longer they’d be ‘june’ bugs.

I know it’s for the joke but people don’t exercise for 24 hours there either.

The last time I saw a May fly was last August. I apologised to it, then I squashed it between the curtain and the window. My friend was Buddhist, so I explained that I was sending my grandmother to a better life. I don’t think he cared.
