I hear that some of the gun owners published the names and addresses of the people who work at that newspaper.

Gun owners are only shameless when they are anonymous. Like any criminal.

If I were a gun owner, I would not want the bad guys to know where to break in to steal guns. If I were a non gun owner, I would not want the bad guys to know who was defenseless. I would rather have them guess and have a good security system and hidden cameras. And we don’t keep valuables in the house to begin with, so there is nothing worth stealing. Which can be a problem if they don’t get goodies and get violent about it. Fortunately we live in a cheap dump in a neighborhood filled with McMansions so we are less of a target. The cars in the driveway are old and cheap, no Beamers to steal, either. It is a scary world out there if you let it be, but I would rather live in the USA than in Syria or or be a woman in India or Saudi Arabia.

Yes, publish the names and addresses of everyone who owns weapons.. Along with what they own, how much ammo they keep and their “reason” for owning it. Also let the schools that their children go to know what to expect and also the churches. If you own a gun and get injured by a gun, you should be responsible for your own medical treatment.

If what the paper did was right, why are they feeling the need for armed guards? Aren’t they trying to make a political statement that there are too many guns? More liberal hypocrisy.

“Included in those names…women who have moved to get away from a stalker…police who have arrested people who would love to “get even”…women…who were victims of domestic abuse who are in hiding.”.The editor will probably say: ’That’s not my concern. Their safety is compromised for my goals, but,it was worth it. I care about the collateral damage(my actions speak louder than words).’

As a gun owner, I have no love for the NRA, but when the discussion of posting who has either weapons or concealed permits came up in our state, I had to go with NOT making the list public (even though it IS a public record) as it would make it too easy for thieves to pick their targets. Also in the case at hand, two named were retired police officers who had arrested many people, and with unlisted phone numbers etc, didn’t really need their names and addresses being made so public.
