Come on now. Except for the one-man up shipness, most Boomers have heard about Wilco, or at least know who they are. And jazz? Come on, all the Boomers I know, know about jazz.

The man’s name is Biederbecke (BEE-der-beck-ee); he played the cornet and the piano and was a highly-respected jazz musician. Sadly, like many of the jazzmen of the 30s, he drank himself to death on rotgut prohibition booze. He died at age 28. (And yup, I’m a Boomer.)

This isn’t a “boomer” thing. It’s a twit thing. (And I say this as a member of Gen X.)
