Obama refuses to hear any proposal that isn’t his own, and so is indirectly encouraging his fellow Democrats not to negotiate.[]In fact, when Boehner tried to kick things off by proposing that they close tax loopholes, Obama declared “I get that for free” and refused to budge.
We all know that Obama has been very flexible, it’s the Tea Party politicians who work for Charles and David Koch that refuse to compromise. Michael, do you accept money from the Kochs or any of their minions?
Protect millionaires and billionaires so they can buy that extra Ferrari or help the middle class that is shrinking faster than George Costanza’s manhood? Obama WON the election so let him lead already!
the usual suspects….posters….cannot abide a truthful cartoon! Ramirez as ever, hits the nail on its head with this Obama Charade……Obama was the initiator of the automatic spending cuts….Obama and Senator Reid are the leaders of an entire year of trashing numerous House GOP bills for jobs and for solving the “fiscal crisis”…..Obama went on a golfing vacation in Hawaii to stage a dramatic phoney “comeback” to pretend to be in dialogue for a “deal”….which the Dems will never agree to if it contains real spending cuts or prevents tax hikes on January 1, 2013.Excellent ’toon, Ramirez!
You Americans are embarrassing. From both sides of your silly political divide.I asked a question about the relevance of Kabuki to the gag, apparently no-one knows. So I used Wikipedia, as non-authotitative as it may be, but a damned sight better than you lot. And found this in reference to Kabuki Dance:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kabuki_dance[extract]:A more recent example of the use of this phrase by popular media is a Wall Street Journal article on the Supreme Court nomination hearing of Justice Sonia Sotomayor.5 Representative Rosa DeLauro, a Democratic member of the U.S. House of Representatives from Connecticut, also used the term to refer to the Republican Party effort to repeal the 2010 health care reform act, telling reporters, “It’s a kabuki dance. The fact of the matter is we’re not going to repeal it.”6
My own country of citizenship and domicile is irrelevant. Yes, it only took a few minutes to find out, using good old USA technology such as Internet and Google, with some European stuff like WWW.My point was that the beautifully executed cartoon made no sense whatsoever unless the reader had awareness of the origin of the Kabuki meme within your domestic politics.

You wouldn’t actually expect him to make a “comic” with basis in reality?

Kabuki is Japanese, and don’t you dare say they’re the same thing. Especially don’t say it to someone from China or Japan.
