    Or even Sweden. In 2009 GM went to them to ask for a bailout of SAAB. Sweden told them to get lost and that they weren’t pouring any more money into that clunker.

    Enron’s biggest problem was that their economist was a leftist, now found in the NY Times.

    Enron’s problem is that they were run by crooks. The Clinton-era SEC found time to “investigate” banks for having loan loss reserves that were “too big,” but somehow missed Enron.Anyway, Paul Krugman doesn’t mention that he was a former Enron advisor. I wonder why not.
