    It’s too cerebral for Mom.

If Zip is smarter than Mom, then Jeff is waaay smarter. Poor Joanie!

Maybe “It is I, Rick, father of Jeff” can enter next strip to save Joanie’s bacon?

@DTPi Thanks for the link…that was indeed a great strip, and a great punchline.

“It is I, Rick, father of Jeff” = one of Trudeau’s all-time punchlines.

I’m sorry, I don’t understand the problem. Done most of my best work between waking and sleeping.

Wait. Does this mean Zipper is up and about at nine in the morning?

Of course— texting! But surely Joanie is also capable of texting…

Maybe Jeff is working. Maybe he dreams all those stories and then writes them down when he wakes up.

I think Joanie’s needs to start asking for the dailies — so she can “proof” them.

Her house, her business. If Jeff doesn’t agree, he can take his business to the street.

“But, is Joanie capable of minding her own business?”

Does Joanie’s “business” = providing free room and board for her feckless 30-year-old son till the Lord comes?

“Her house? She did not build it”

The highway you drive to work on? You did not build it.

True, and I didn’t build my car, but when you and Pierre-Joseph Proudhon try to appropriate my car, you will have to deal with my German shepherd. She doesn’t believe in utopian socialism, and, believe it or not, neither does Barack Obama.

“… Joanie and Rick should just throw [Jeff] out.”

Yeah, Susan, but what about future royalties from Jeff’s prospective next book? If he starts receiving them, then couldn’t Joanie and Rick recoup their investment? But if they “kick him to the curb”, as one recent commenter wants, then wouldn’t they stand to lose their investment entirely?

About right. The awesome Obama millennial slackers sacking out with their parents waiting for their “Disability” and “Unemployment” checks along with their EBT cards to arrive. The Romney segment hard at work hauling the wagon all the while “not paying their fair share.”

Obama wasn’t president at the change of the millennium. How are the slackers “his”?

What brilliant commentary by Trudeau about how kids nowadays are to lazy to be able to write for three hours a day.

I didn’t call them slackers, he did. And it’s always possible there are some slackers somewhere, isn’t it? Obviously most people who are without a job are not happy about it.

“We’ll shot your German shepherd. What is he, Krypto?”

Shoot (not shot) a kryptonite shepherd? Even Superman can’t do that!

Did you turn to a life of crime, because your mother kicked you out of her basement at the tender age of 42? If you keep studying Descartes, maybe Prince Charlie will pay you for early morning philosophy discussions. You’ll need to dress warmly. Castles still aren’t centrally heated.

“Demand truthful testimony about BENGHAZI and the cover-up.”

That’s precisely what we’re demanding from YOU, Calimesa Jim. Vomit it out!
