I avoided activities that put me naked with a crowded room (and still would). Still, it is normal to do in an exam room and I love to be … with my man ;-D

We weren’t allowed to skip the showers. The teacher had a checklist and would tick off everyone’s name every day. (Being girls, we did have one excuse for not showering.)

By the way, if Ellie is resisting the shower and Connie is still trying to talk her into it, why is she stripped down to her towel?

Sure hope Elly never gets a job in a nuclear power plant. Decontamination showers are a requirement!

There is a funny British film called “Nuns on the Run”, where two gangsters disguise themselves as nuns to avoid being killed. When speaking to the Mother Superior and told about the convent’s communal shower, they claim that “Nudisty is very evil where we are from”, only to be told by the Mother Superior that “Beneath our robes, God made us all the same.” Of course, they had a good reason for being concerned about the communal shower!

To quote an old saying, “If you’ve seen two, you’ve seen ’em all” – the rest is just proportion.

I can see Elly’s point — they may ALL be women but they AREN’T all the same! I’d feel extremely self-conscious stripping down and showering naked in front of a bunch of other people too (even though at 5’, 3’ tall and weighing 125 lbs., I’m pretty much where I’m supposed to be BMI-wise according to my doctor at last month’s annual check-up). But just as Coffee-Turtle said: there are some things people prefer to do alone . . . and if not wanting to shower in front of other people is how Elly feels, then Connie shouldn’t be pushing or shaming her into it. Just because she (Connie) doesn’t want to shower “alone” with all those strangers (or maybe it’s because she just wants a friend by her side to converse with while she does) doesn’t mean Elly should feel forced into doing something she isn’t comfortable with.

I barely participated in gym, i only did enough to pass and I refused to shower at school. I was picked on enough as it is. Plus there were a couple of perverted teachers who watched.

We were forced to shower in high school, and we were also forced to let the teachers check us to make sure we had “soaped” all the right places. Anybody else see anything wrong with this?

in my high school guys normally had to shower and we had to line up to get our towels from the coach … at the time, I never saw anything wrong with it … but some guys refused to shower and would stink the rest of the day … the girls had private dressing stalls in their gym area (went in one time when it was loaned to visiting rival teams) … didn’t think too much about it … my son is still very nude conscious – doesn’t even like to view it of either sex. No big deal to me anymore.
