The Boehner plan is NOT to lower taxes. It’s to cut taxes on the rich and raise them on the poor. Let’s hope they don’t get away with it, and that we get a sane policy that actually spends money on infrastructure, education, and schools, and raises the necessary taxes from those who have had the biggest cuts in the past thirty years.
Boehner has shown that he cares more about the GOP than he does about the country. Unfortunately for him, he also proved via “Plan B” that he is utterly incapable of providing any real leadership. By embracing the “My Way or the Highway” mentality, the entire USA will fall off the Fiscal Cliff, just as the Tea Party wanted them to all along.
First of all, it never was a “cliff”, it was more like a “hill” (which is still worse than a mere “slope”, of course….) Second of all, if a tax increase that is supposed to be “temporary” usually turns out to be, why are people freaking out about a tax cut that had an expiration date built into it?
Elephants, yeah sure, but shouldn’t that really be a herd of cats? And Boehner there, he’s got no grip on anything, let alone the reins. Sheesh. Politics. “Poly” is Greek for “many,” and ticks are blood-sucking insects. Maybe it should be a herd of loathsome deer ticks.
And now he wants the Democrats to do the “Maverick” thing and climb onto the hitch(es) to stop the runaway coach! The Constitution says spending bills are to originate in the House, and since a budget is spending, Boner is abdicating his responsibility.
The scary thing is that Boehner is the relatively sane one in the bunch. the other ones are all rabid tea-party radicals. I’d rather have Boener than have Cantor take is place

Congress has always been for sale – we just did a better job of keepin’ them honest!
