Going to be about 0 tonight, not as cold as NEK, but too cold for me. Then it will get milder by Sun., up to 38. Snow on Fri. night, don’t know how much.

Good morning, vagabonds. I don’t know the temperature here in North Miami, but my house guest took me shopping at Publix yesterday and I didn’t wear a jacket.

I was tired yesterday and slept a lot. I still haven’t hung up the clothes in my suitcase. I did make a lot of phone calls and, after calling my bank, was relieved that my ATM card that was swallowed up by the ATMachine on my arrival at Cancun Airport wasn’t used for foul purposes.

Morning, Village.Woo Hoo! We got the furnace working! All we had to do was wait and give it time to blow the air out of the pipes. The AC man said this is normal when a furnace sits unused for a long period of time. So we now have a furnace, hot water heater, dish washer, and a garbage disposal.

This morning I will meet with the Staff/Parish Committee and make the official announcement that I will retire this year.

And you wouldn’t believe the beautiful weather we’ve been having. Yesterday afternoon, we went out with short sleeves!

Good morning, Vagabonds…Yesterday I went to the monthly book discussion group. We had 25 people there since it’s “the season”…in the summertime we have fewer than half that number in attendance. There were 23 ladies and 2 guys present and the book was Cheryl Strayed’s memoir, “Wild: From Lost to Found on the Pacific Crest Trail.” I read it several months ago when it was on the best-seller list and then read it again this month so the details would be fresh in my mind for the discussion. It’s a page-turner, but the group’s reactions to the idea of a woman hiking alone on the wilderness trail were mixed. (Strayed hiked alone from the western Mojave Desert area in Southern California to the Oregan/Washington border.) Next month we’ll discuss, “My Life in France,” by Julia Child.

    Good Morning, Villagers,

It was 39 degrees this morning!!!!! Woo Hoo! Probably will just hang around in the 40’s, but it is sure welcome! Won’t last too long, snow is expected by the week end.

Florchi, isn’t that the book SweetBill was reading, too? Sounds very interesting! I’ll have to look for it at the library.

Our tree work is almost over. They really did a great job. But, it still is a shame all those trees were killed by that Mountain Pine Beetle. I can’t wait for Spring, and we’ll be able to walk our hills. The tree growth in some areas was so dense we couldn’t walk the property.

Good news about your ATM card, Arye! that is such a concern!

    Good morning Vagabonds.

Arye, glad to know your accounts are safe. I know from personal experience what a nightmare it can be when someone gets hold of your card number. (fortunately, in the long run, we got back everything we lost, but it took a while and an effort)

About 50 here and sprinkling off and on. Supposed to rain for the next few days. I like this kind of weather. It reminds me of my home town on the Southern Oregon coast.
