Morning, Village.Woo Hoo! I got my dish washer installed! Instead of hard-wiring it, like most of them are, I asked a friend, who is a retired electrician, to install a plug and receptacle for it so I can just plug it in. It looks good and makes the kitchen look like it’s actually going to amount to something someday.
David, I work for a builder in So CA. All of the dishwashers we install are plugged in rather than hard-wired. Most people like it better that way. It is much easier to install or to remove and replace. It isn’t exactly common practice, though. The builder has to buy the “pigtail” (the plug-in cord) separately and install that on the DW so it can be plugged in.
I’ve been watching our tree people work their magic. Their machines are incredible! One big one, grabs hold of the tree at the trunk, then cuts it at the bottom, then picks it up (at the trunk) and then strips it, and puts it in a pile. Such fun. I’ll email some pictures later today. Another machine is called a “masticater”. This guy goes after the downed trees, and literally chews up the dead branches. Then, he goes after the smaller trees, and lifts his chewing bucket to the top and chews it from the top down to the ground. A third machine is the “chipper”…….a huge claw in the front picks up the dead branches or smaller trees and feed it into his chipper body. Seconds and it’s all gone.
Hi all..Started the day in a snow storm, now ol’ Sol is out and shining. Talk about Jekyll and Hyde. The temp is now 15 and desending, and is expected to be 0 to 15 below..ttfn
@JanCinLVThat is how I install my dishwashers also. Much, much easier.
MLI would love to see your pictures. I have seen the machines that take the tree down but not the other ones you discribe. My address is crobaarcomcast.netThanks
Rita, I just watched a “Modern Marvels” show a few days ago about logging technology, and your machines were part of it. They went into pretty deep detail about the one that cuts it down, de-limbs it and then cuts it into manageable lengths. Pretty cool watching it on TV. Must be amazing in your back yard.
I heard a little while ago that “Dear Abby” passed away today. Pauline Phillips originated the column and passed it on to her daughter when she retired. She was 94.
Good morning Vagabonds: As you can see from my photos, my trip to the hacienda was very interesting..@FLORCHI: If you have the email address of anyone who has my email address I can send you the pics also. Or, I can put my email address up briefly on either B&E or Fox Trot en Espanol.

Good morning, gentlemen. And a gracious good morning to all Vagabonds yet to come.
Arye, enjoy your trip to the village.
Slim, in response to your late comment yesterday, I think we all have a few of those “I wish I hadn’t done that” moments.
