Really some people should just accept the cold reality of the inevitable.

Okay, I’ve heard of tattooed moustaches (Ainu), enlarged noses (certain African tribes), enlarged earlobes (Kerala) and enlarged lips (Arunachal Pradesh) as signs of beauty, but filed teeth?

THAT IS JUST SICK!

Speaking of dangerous wild animals, I used to have those dreams about my ex-wife. Fortunately time heals.

I suspect the older women from the Mentawai Islands are toothless.

Hm, I do recall a few dangerous animal dreams — mostly from my later childhood.I take it the Mentawai diet is primarily carnivorous.

I wonder where they got the idea children dream of nothing but dangers animals? I never did.

They’re not too sharp, I guess.

Surveys do say children dream of wild, dangerous animals a lot. They think it’s left over from when a child would be likely to face that. We dream of danger to help us practice what we’d do in the situation. Children practice getting out of Dodge when faced with something that in some areas of the world are still a threat (villages in Africa lose kids to lions, for example).
