I think this strip is exaggerating just a little. It usually takes about 2weeks to get back to normal at my gym :-). The regulars take bets on how long it takes. Never recall one one of the resolutioners to stick with it. But the folks that decide that today is the first day of the rest of their life … Those are the ones we see again.
I’m one of those who stuck with it (doctor’s orders) but I ain’t saying how much because a) I don’t like to stand out in a crowd (it’s embarrassing) b) the number is not impressive anyway (it’s embarrassing) and c) it’s embarrassing. Or was that your intention when asking the question?
Slightly reminds me of a BYU poster showing an empty classroom with the text “BYU’s new freshman class” (The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints changed the missionary age to 18yo males & 19yo females as of October 2012).

I don’t remember, its been awhile since I lifted weights. But I do lift my self of the couch to get me a drink of water once in awhile.

I don’t do weights. But I’m no couch potato either. I get my exercise without paying the gym dues.

I don’t press any benches and don’t go to the gym. I do my home treadmill every other day and I do lift little dumbbells. (No – not my grandkids!)

Oh, and the Y here has been looking like panel two since before Christmas. Lots of regulars become irregular this time of year. So much to do.
