Canter personally profited from the first time the US credit rating was lowered. There’s no reason to believe he wouldn’t want to make it happen a 2nd time.

As with all things Republican, this will also fail. Altho Cantor may get the Speakers job, it won’t matter – his party is being consumed from within. Enjoy your cold tea, GOP.

Cantor is just Boehner with the rest of the ethical restraints, removed.

I am constantly amazed that there is anyone that has not recognized the fact that there is a complete lack of any plan at all from the republicans. They filibuster their own bills, or CAN’T EVEN BRING THEM TO THE FLOOR. And yet the Fox ‘news’ crowd still follows along behind singing praises. It is an embarrassment. How do they look themselves in the mirror?

All of the republican positioning is just distracting nonsense. Like Cenk Uygur says, “Obama Will Ride to the Rescue … for Republicans…He’s dying for the establishment to finally call him post-partisan. He will do it at any cost. In fact, he actively wants to cut Social Security and Medicare. He can’t wait for that pat on the back from the establishment when they finally call him post-partisan, above party politics, and a statesman for screwing over his own voters.”

The Republican party is in anarchy.Republican House members stabbing each other in public and private. Speaker Boehner increasingly powerless. Republican senators filibustering their own bills. Norquist’s group and Tea Party ‘Freedom Works’ flip-flopping by the hour. NRA LaPierre apparently insane. Dick Armey, Karl Rove and Dick Morris walking off with millions from campaign contributions as ‘consulting fees’. Republican billionaire donors furious at the $100s of millions wasted.

The more foolish the Republican party looks, the stronger the Conservative party becomes. By 2016, the Republicans will be so weak the choice will be between the Conservative party’s nominee for president and the Democratic party’s nominee

You posted “Romney Landslide” every day for two months. You have no credibility. Your words are meaningless.

I’m only speculating here people but: Cantor could have profited from the first U. S. default by selling his stocks short on Wall St. That’s how it can be done. You buy stock options for stocks you actually hope will fall in price and then clean up when those stocks do fall in price. The first U.S. default could have caused many of Cantor’s stock options to pay off big time!
