Ted Rall for December 26, 2012
Transcript:
Grief counselors and child psychiatrists from throughout Waziristan gathered to console the survivors of the U.S. drone attack. (Woman: Bad news: Your whole family done got blown up. Good news: NGO Teddy Bear!) Parents received techniques to help children handle the tragedy. (Man: If they cry, hit them. If hitting them makes them cry, hit them harder.) Kids are encouraged to go back to their usual routines. (Man 2: Normalcy matters. They need to see that death goes on, that tomorrow is another drone, another day.) A makeshift memorial provides comfort. (Man 3: People are gathering or a memorial service.) (Man 4: Hellfire 'em!)

’Maybe if moslems wern’t so hell bent on killing Christians we woiuldn’t need any of that stuff?’Why go all the way to Warizstan to kill Muslims? You have some in Dearborn, Michigan; blow up your own. I mean, in your eyes, any Muslim is the same Muslim, right?

‘I’m a Christian and I don’t find it necessary or morally right to kill innocent women and children to defend myself.’Whoa! I just fell out of my chair! Well, praise be…good sense. Goodness, this schnapps I’m drinking must be the good stuff…I just liked your comment.

Hellfire ’em? No, start with a good fashioned dose of napalm then use the hellfire attack! This method is much more effective!

It is called a Hellfire, because it was originally developed for the Apache, it is an acronym for Helicopter fired missile.

The “Hellfire” was designed as an anti-tank, anti-armor weapon. At $68,000 apiece, taking out armor makes sense. Using them to replace a $5 bullet, is insane. That they lead to more collateral damage than a bullet, stretches any concept of “morality” beyond reason.
BTW, there were no 5 year olds hijacking aircraft, and actually, not a single Afghan, nor Iraqi citizen was involved in the attack on the WTC on 9.11, or the Pentagon.
Perhaps the anti-Islam sentiments constantly expressed by Americans since before “Desert stupid” in ‘91, that also could have been avoided easily, MIGHT have something to do with why so many Middle East Muslims are “ticked off” at us? Also, as “Arabs”, are and extreme minority within Islam, even if you include Persians as well, it’s not a pimple on the total number within the 1.5 Billion Muslims in the world. With a population of 340 million, Maybe the U.S. should reconsider ticking off so many people around the world. The right wing had to invent a new enemy when the Soviet Union fell, we might want to reflect on our “success” in Viet Nam, before taking on more of those “primitives” fighting to defend their homes, countries, and children, in “insurgent wars”?

“Muslims do not observe Christmas!”
Some do. Jesus/Isa is revered as a prophet in Islam, and his birth is sometimes celebrated (and called “Noel”) with the giving of gifts. Depends on the Muslim, really. I don’t observe Chinese New Year, but a coworker traditionally gives out small gifts and tokens to all of us when it rolls around. I don’t know anybody who’s refused one.

‘I guess that is what happens when you let your children get too close to terrorists. If the terrorist come in from the west, you should grab your kids and head east as quickly as possible.’Of course, blame the victims. The US also uses drones to blow up American houses when suspected militants move in next door. And if a terrorist moved in next door to him, Theophilous would know, of course. This is simply Theophilous being the Islamaphobic bigot that he is.

the crusades were not in response to the war between byzantine and persia/arabs, as i recall it was the crusaders who sacked constantinople. the crusades were about conquering the holy land
