But you see, it was an “emergency.” The nearest regular spot was at least twenty feet farther away, and he didn’t see anyone handicapped looking for a parking place.True story: Here in Houston, some lawyers with business in the Court House park all day in the handicapped zones right in front of the building. It’s cheaper to pay the fines en masse than it is to park in a garage farther away and, of course, their time is sooo valuable.
@mikie2I heard that years ago, large companies would dump their toxic waste into the streams and pay the fines. The fines were much cheaper than properly disposing of the waste.
One lawyer in a town will starve. If there are two, they both will become wealthy.(I forgot who said that).

Here in the cold Northwest, we have parking patrols who look for illegal parkers. They are seniors with nothing else to do, except maybe cackle when they find one!

When I go to the gym, I try to get a space near the door. I don’t want to walk across a parking lot to go in and use the treadmill.
