    Good morning Vagabonds.

David, It has been my experience that pastors don’t retire, they go into pulpit supply. ;-)

A barber we used to go to would go down to the yucatanevery January. As I understood it, he was descended from the Maya. A little time in the tanning both and he looked like a native.

It was 5 degs last night, I haven’t looked this morning, may be I’m just to scared. ;-)

    Good morning, Vagabonds.

David, a very good friend who is a retired Methodist Minister (he married my husband and me) went on to be the pastor for a nursing home in Perris, CA. He loves it there – great people who really need him.

It got down to 28 last night. Cold enough for this California girl!

    Good Morning, Vagabond Village,

It got down to 4.5 degrees last night. That’s a big BRRRR! Had to use an extra quilt and all was fine!

Have a great time in the Yucatan, Arye. How long will you be gone? Do you stay with family/friends, or hotels? What kind of food will you enjoy the most? What place will you most want to visit again? (Inquiring minds want to know)

    Congratulations, david……….it’s semi-official. Woo Hoo!

Jan, once it gets below 30, it’s just plain cold! It’s really hard to tell if it’s 10 or 30……..just that your sinus cavity freezes up the closer it gets to zero. Glad we can be inside when the temp dips!

@MONTANA LADY: I stay in a hotel in the center of town and go to a restaurant called “El Trapiche.” It used to be a jugeria, where they would make fruit shakes from really exotic fruits. My diet bthere is completely different from what I eat here. I have breakfast of a small plate of cantalope and bananas with a glass of freshly squeezed orange juice. For lunch I’ll have either refried beans (in Spanish, frijoles refritos, in Maya Bul) or 3 quesadiles, maybe with a glass of chocolate milk.

I just saw a video of me climbing the pyramid of Chitzen Itza, but I don’t do that anymore. I just relax and visit with my friends and on Mondays I go to the English Library for a language exchange and meet new people.

@davidf42If you think that you will relax for a year or so after you retire, I’ve news for you. It isn’t going to happen. After I retired, many years ago, I wondered how I found the time to do all the things I had to do when I was working. As for the cold it was about 14 this morning at about 8:00 am and I am with you David, when it gets below 50 it’s too cold for me also but unfortunately I don’t have the deep pockets to go south for the winter so I have to tough it out. For me, I would like to live in shorts and a jersey all year around.

High of 79 here today. High of 81 predicted for tomorrow, then back to a high of 79 on Friday & only 78 on Saturday. I was over by the beach and all the parking lots and parking spaces were full. Bikini weather. @Rita – come July when we’re sweltering I’ll be wishing I was in Montana. :-)
