Love the cartoon. Didn’t both of these men study Law?Meep Meep.I do hope there is good faith negotiation happening behind closed doors. I heard Boehnor asked that McConnall, Reid, and Pelosi be kept out of the negotiations. I was really hoping both parties would put new blood in the top posts in order to show good faith and start on fresh pages. But I was also hoping Mr. Boehnor would put a person who had studied science on the Science Committee, then there’s the other committee chairs, I can’ believe out of over 250 people, those are the best minds to oversee those committees and decide who will and will not be seen., But that’s a different cartoon i guess.Respectfully,C.

OBVIOUSLY, if we were able to stop global warming, it would DOUBTLESS become too cold to grow crops. Just like it was continuously, in the last couple of centuries before industrialization and fossil fuel exploitation began. And OBVIOUSLY those scientists went into the fabulously lucrative field of science in order to make themselves rich, so they are DOUBTLESS making up all this global warming stuff.

The climate issue has nothing to do with the Earth’s position relative to the sun. What scientists are looking at are growing factors like the increasing rise in ocean temperatures. The Arctic has lost more ice this year than ever before due to a rise in the ocean temperature. Also, as the upper levels of the ocean heat up, less phytoplankton is able to grow. Not only does this affect the ocean food chain, it also limits the ocean’s ability to absorb CO2, pushing it back into the atmosphere. Since we are also losing rainforests and increasing our CO2 production, we are approaching a tipping point, which may cause a global climate shift. Natural climate change, which takes several centuries to milennia to occur, gives species and humans time to adapt to the changes. A rapid shift, such as we are experiencing, can result in sudden extinctions, as well as humans not being able to provide enough food due to a sudden need to change farming practices or locations. Looking out your window and saying “Still looks fine to me” is not science. I’m sure you will be one of the first to complain when food prices skyrocket because our government ignored the facts and did nothing to prevent or prepare for a climate shift.

Fuuny how you use the deniers argeument to try and make yours. Who funds the 5% of climatologists (meaning 95% do not agree with them) who say global warning is not real? The Koch brothers. Why do they do this? Because regulations to fight global warning would cost them money. Ima says the scientists want money so they make up data. Yes Yes those damn scientists and thier greedy nature, I mean why else does someone become a scientists. its all about the cash and the millions they make, those greedy greedy fact checkers. You are REALLY reaching now Ima, how truely funny!!!!

Based on my understanding of the data and the science, I estimate that the probability of Earth becoming like Venus – 10%, of the extinction of 90% of living species – 50%, including man – 40%, of the end of civilization – 99% within the next 200 years.
