While I hope our leaders pray or meditate on their decisions prior to taking actions, I also expect them to honor the Constitution. Our founding father knew how religions and state religions had added to the conflicts in Europe and in an effort to keep those divisions from occurring in our nation, demanded that church and state be always separate. This cartoon, inelegant as it is, reminds the thoughtful of this provision in our laws.Respectfully,C.

Thrangor is correct above. Apparently somebody has taken over the Bible & rewrote it? I don’t think so.Either you haven’t actually read the Bible, or you don’t think it applies to you. It’s funny how so many conservatives hold others up to the Biblical standard but also believe that everything that they themselves don’t follow no longer applies.

The current Pope had knowledge of the extent of clergy’s sexual abuse of children. He did nothing to help the children. His only concern was to protect the Church. He’s a tool of Satan leading a corrupt institution.

The pope won’t actually be texting, it will be a younger cardinal spokesman. A comedian on Chelsea Lately said he had a cardinal texting for him, too.

A lot of religious zealots are just like political zealots. The pols pick and choose from the constitution. The religious ones pick and choose from the Bible. It seems an incurable disease.

Western religion: paternalistic, inflexible, and absolutely convinced of infallibility. Republicans are different though. I forget how.
