Love the Cartoon. Not only does it have Mr. Oliphant’s talented illustration work, but it captures the attitude of the Senate minority leader over the last 4 years. To Masterskrain, do not be too bitter, here in Va, we have our own narrow minded conservatives. At least neither of our states had a Murdouch or Aiken.Respectfully,C.
McConnell has set a new low bar as a politician. Using his rather high office, he set out an incredibly destructive and unambitious program to neutralize Obama and couldn’t even achieve that. Now he has nothing..That’s what he is: a big nothing.
The extreme right has control of the Republican party. They’ve learned the wrong lesson from the election. They think that Mitt just wasn’t conservative enough. I’m watching these idiots destroy what was once a great party, the party of Lincoln and Eisenhower. Now it’s a clown party and doomed to lose in the midterms and in 2016. By the time they come to their senses and start electing truly compassionate human beings, it may be too late.
Boehner, McConnell, the other GOP idjits, they are surrounded by flocks of people who agree with them, and they sit around telling each other that they are sticking to their principles and their constituents will support them. As the ship goes down they have no clue anything is wrong. Adult leadership needed!
Part of the GOP’s problem is that many moderates left the party, and the extreme righties now make up a larger percentage. So when they look to themselves for answers, all they hear is more extreme rightie opinions. And if they kick out the extreme righties, they will be too small to win anything but some Gerry-mandered House seats. I don’t see any painless strategies for them. Which is unfortunate because I’m not satisfied with the Democrats either, and would welcome a smart, constructive opposition.
Yes, I liked McConnell’s idea of extending the debt ceiling one month at a time, and extracting blood from the country every month, simply for paying bills for things McConnell voted for. Why is it that under Republican presidents NOTHING is paid for, but under Democratic presidents we have to pay for everything they want to do AND the things the Republicans did when they were in power? What the country needs now is stimulus, not austerity. When the economy has recovered, paying down the debt will be easy (assuming we don’t get Republicans in charge again, of course).
Oh no, not the “fiscal cliff” again!! I’m quaking in my boots at the thought of going into debt for infra-structure and healthcare for Americans when we’ve been in over our heads paying for 2 nonsensical wars throughout the past decade (which served Halliburton and others so well).

It’s so disgusting that our so-called leaders think that playing politics is more important than providing good leadership to the country.

It’s about time McConnell decided to become a true Republican instead of the usual leadership RINO.

The GOP believes they’re Obi-Wan Kenobi. They just got struck down, and now they think they’re stronger than ever.

No more 60 % majorities to do the USA’s business! Fifty plus, and the bill passes!

Our people, like Rick Scott, Marco Rubio and Pam Bondi concentrate on destroying the state, not the whole country.
