A woman at my local grocery store was almost fired for calling a customer, “Hon.” As in, “How’re you doing today, Hon?”The customer made such a fuss, the clerks now barely make eye contact with customers unless they know them. I have also heard customers complain to clerks for saying Happy Holidays instead of Merry Christmas. One clerk was Jewish judging from the star of David brooch she was wearing. She just apologized to the angry woman who berated her. This is no way to treat neighbors. When a person makes the effort to say something nice, throwing it back in their face is not only rude, but to do it in the name of Jesus, a man known for his compassion and love for humanity, is obscene. I don’t want the non religious dictating to the religious, but I also do not want the religious to be abusive to those who are non believers or who have a different faith system.Respectfully,& Happy Holidayze,C.C.
My favorite “idiot” was a woman whose kid was acting up in the store. She told him"if you don’t behave, that man is going to spank you!" Almost 40 years ago, and I stil remember it !
