Keep those Chinese toys offshore. We don’t need their lead paint, tiny magnets, poisonous plastics and tiny parts for our kids to swallow. this Christmas.
In my ongoing quest to be objective and avoid getting into the written ass kicking that goes on, I dug up a bunch of web sites for those that want to buy American. Amazing what you can find when you take 5 minutes to search something like “buy American companies.”
I don’t buy American as much as possible. :-| Fortunately, that’s rather easy nowadays. I always try to buy Portuguese. Unfortunately, all they export is cork. So I tend to drink a lot of wine (yes, South African wine, none of the old world plonk). It is quite dispiriting buying everything Chinese, so I buy Austrian Stroh rum just to vary things a tad. If that’s in short supply, I hop over to the local pub and down a few pints of Ruddles County bitter. Always buy local,I say.
I still use my grandmother’s solid state RCA CRT console TV. Made in the USA and works as good as the day she bought it. The little bit of TV I watch, I can’t justify buying a new TV until it dies.
