Didn’t have any relatives from my fathers side and thanks to the cousins on my mothers side of the family you can be arrested in Eastern Washington just for knowing my moms maiden name.
We always had visits from my Dad’ side, since more of them lived close enough. Only one bunch on my Mom’s side lived in town- one brother and his family. We’d go over there a day or two after Christmas, and Dad’s family would come by our place in the week between holidays. I remember when I was very young, my grandparents on my Mom’s side staying at our place for Christmas, but only once. They lived about six hours away.
