It’s all a money making, people controlling scheme.

It is amazing how strongly opinions about something that cannot be known are asserted as fact. Morty, you better hope you’re right!

And if any church does convince anyone to relinquish some of their money, you can be sure that the amount that goes to goodness and charity is only a tiny fraction of what was received.

Last month my wife received a demand from the Catholic Church to pay them €178. Austria is one of the few countries where a church can demand of their members a percentage of their taxable income: 1.1%.My wife earns absolutely no income in Austria nor receives a single cent from the Austrian state.Where the Catholic church thumb-sucked this figure from she has no idea. She had no say in becoming a member of the Catholic Church but she does have a say in staying one. Austrian Catholics resident in Austria can be subjected to a lawsuit from the Catholic church to receive this 1.1% tax or face excommunication.Despite easily proving she has no income, she has decided enough is enough. The Catholic Church has no business demanding money from her and getting the Austrian state to act as its stooge & strongman enforcer in order to collect it.She is opting out from the church. She excommunicated herself last Wednesday after initiating the process 10 days ago. Please note how she uses a local government office to do so. This is why there must be separation between church & state.https://www.wien.gv.at/relon/austritt/Von: Religionsaustritt Online <???wien.gv.at>Betreff: Religionsaustritt von ??????? - Aktenzahl: ???/000001/2???/????An: ??????????.??Datum: Dienstag, 20. Religion is a joke, the bible was written centuries ago by men who believed the Sun and stars revolved around the Earth on crystal spheres and that disease was caused by demons in your skull… and we should take THEIR advice on things? As for Jesus, nice guy, good person, great philosopher, but, otherwise deluded, with followers who wrote the World’s most popular fiction when they wrote about him. “Immaculate conception”, “Angels” “Rose on the 3rd day” and other BS

All of that said, I’m perfectly fine with someone saying Merry Xmas to me, I answer “you too” and enjoy all the lights and decorations
