Those are garibaldi biscuits. The squashed fruit is supposed to resemble squashed flies…

I hate it when this happens. Stupid commercial food producers… Probably just modified corn starch and red dye #6.
You used to be able to buy them in the US – haven’t looked for them recently, so not sure. My dad was from Oz and he loved them.
