The Tea Party is well financed. Wonder by who?

The Tea Party would have disappeared ages ago or remained what it already was — primarily white, older, racist Republicans of the most extreme stripe — had it not received funding from the Koch brothers, who wanted to use them to reduce their taxes and regulation. The original Tea Party members would have sneered at these people.

The Tea-Party is nothng new, it’s really nothing more than a repackaged version of the ultra right-wing groups of the Depression era, the Southern Committee to Uphold the Constitution, and the Liberty League,to name just two. Like the Tea-Party, these outfits were bankrolled by big oil. These groups however, were never as successful as the Tea-Party, for a number of reasons. They never united in a single frontThanks to the tax-code of the 1930s, their backers weren;t nearly as wealthy as they are today.Their weren’t nearly as many news outlets back then as there are now, and even the right-wing news organs never openly supported them. William Hearst and Col. McCormick got in the tank for any of themAnd last but not least,These outifts were all OPENLY racist

Interesting that you keep chanting the “Faux News” line, while the ones who are still reporting lies as fact are the liberal lies media.

Sheesh. And to think, which the Teabaggers seem singularly unable to do, many of the same people who claim to “love” the Constitution, and be “Patriots™” and “Real Americans™,” and chant “USA! USA!” at every opportunity, now are petitioning to secede from the good old UNITED States… Teh stoopid! It burns!

This morning, I don’t feel like researching or qualifying sources, and then writing a well thought-out comment. So I’m going to do like zoidknight does and spit out mindless ‘auto-retorts’.“I see the kool-aid is strong in you. The only racism that has been going on is from the right. As usual”.“And yet the ones doing the deregulation has been the right while coming up with more regulations and taxes to hamper the American middle class”.“Interesting that you keep chanting the ‘liberal lies media’ line, while the ones who are still reporting lies as fact are Fox News.”“And yet the racism today comes more and more blatantly from the right and right-wing radio lies. Do get your facts straight.”

Teabagger Allen West finally gave up after a recount showed him still losing. He will probably land over at Faux Noise to spew his hatred.

The Koch brothers, Dick Armey, et al, made chumps out of a bunch of uneducated aging white people. It is kind of like summer day camp for seniors who have nothing else to do. Give them free t-shirts, free bus rides (to town hall meetings), and free snacks. Give them a pep talk and some talking points (instead of camp songs to sing). Then tell them to campaign and vote for people like Michele Bachman, Jim DeMint, Paul Ryan, Todd Akin, etc. (against their better interests).

I hope the GOP’ers keep drinking. The best possible thing for the country to have them continue to disgrace themselves.

And there are the few, Ima, who think that they should not be taxed at all. OK’ then BUILD YOUR OWN DAMN ROADS, FIGHT YOUR OWN FIRES, ETC! We went through that before when two companies would answer the fire bell. If the proper fire plaque wasn’t on the door, they’d watch the house burn. THAT"S the Tea Party. They don’t like the plaque, so they’ll let the country burn. I’d say “Love It or Leave It”, but where would you go? Somalia might be perfect. No government, no taxes, and everyone has a gun!

“The original teabaggers were funded by a Koch Brothers front group, "-It wouldn’t shock me if this were true, but I haven’t seen it documented anywhere.

I believe that the original Tea Party members were truly concerned about the national debt and the inevitable tax increases that would have to follow. Then the Koch brothers hired Dick Armey (one of Newt Gingrich’s pals in the House in the 90s) to start a PAC and “organize” the Tea Party. The current Tea Party has no resemblence to the original. Its been completely co-opted by rich guys who want to pollute more and pay MUCH lower business and personal taxes.
