My Apple computer needed a new battery. The guy at the genius bar toted up the price and said it will be $129 “plus $9 tax for the government”. I answered, “Well, I did drive on a road to get here.”

I know you’re a liberal so apparently I’ll have to spell this out for you: most people DON’T pay for their own health insurance. Most of us receive it from our employers (or the government.) My portion of my health care payment is almost nothing. About $20 a week, give or take. My employer pays them a whole lot more than that. Wish I had a paycheck stub to give you the exact figures. And if your health insurance gives out "free: birth control, that means SOMEBODY has to pay more to cover that. If your employer is the Catholic Church – they pay more to cover you for something their teachings forbid. If it’s the government, then all of us taxpayers are subsidizing you.

I pay over 5000/year for health insurance plus my ex-employer kicks in another grand or so.

Republicans, quick, make it illegal for anyone who uses contraception to vote. And require tests for the use of birth control on all women voters.
