It might have been an angelic visitation. It could also have been another horse type mare, they get into my dreams all the time. She did call it a Nightmare after all.

That horn horse deserves to have her horn sawn off for making mean comments like that to poor little Phoebe. I wonder how HN managed to get her ego to fit though the barn door.

@Dampwaffle – She’s a unicorn! You were expecting humble?!? And I suspect that Marigold doesn’t live in anything so mundane as a barn . . .

Marigold sure isn’t perfect with all that vanity and ego, but Phoebe isn’t perfect either. At least they manage to complement each other.

Great one! Sounds like Merigold might need some therapy after such an awful dream!

Yesterday she was purring and drowsing happily in a sunbeam.

Well now we know what Unicorns dream about. Oh Marigold you sure know how to inadvertently insult some one threw a compliment.

I think Phoebe has learned to take what Marigold says with a grain of salt.

Actually, no, “nightmare” has nothing to do with horses; it’s from an old word “mare” that means “female evil spirit”—distantly related to Irish “morrigan”. The two words used to be spelled and pronounced differently, but wore down until they sounded alike, and the “evil spirit” word disappeared except as a part of “nightmare”.

Judging from yesterday and today, it begins to seem possible that Marigold may actually be a cat. “But how can this be?” I hear you ask. “Marigold is a unicorn!” I refute you thus: Everyone knows that a cat can do anything it wants to. It therefore follows that a cat can be a unicorn, if it wants to. Ah, there’s nothing like logic to brighten your day.
