    If it didn’t affect his ability to do his job (which I’m not convinced it did), WHO THE HELL CARES?.This isn’t reality TV, people. Why are we disqualifying people from important jobs based on their sexual preferences? He can be having sex with goats for all I care. Can he still do the job or not?

    A little observation of the human race suggests that people compartmentalize very well. It’s one of our greatest talents. The number of saints-in-every-area is quite small, and if we had to wait for them we wouldn’t have made even a tiny fraction of the progress we have.

    Although the act in this case was not illegal, it leaves him vulnerable to blackmail and forced espionage. Also, what if the lady turns out to be a foreign agent?

    Now I am not saying what these men done is right but why do we nail the men but not the slut women. It is the slut women that have this cave man animal addiction to have sex with the strongest of the men or have a leader position. Its nature

    @stipple:

    “Fearless leader, this is Tanya. The general always has strategy sessions at 10:30 PM on his cell phone. Here is his number. He’s also out of his apartment every Tuesday from 1 until 4 PM, and he loves a good gin and tonic. And if you let him win in golf, he drinks too much and is easier to get details from.”

    Just an example. I agree that a person’s private life shouldn’t matter, up to a point. But when you’re the head spook, you had better suspect that everyone around you is a spy.

    That’s four generals in Afghanistan to be busted..Question: Why is America training them in military skills in order to take over security? Shouldn’t training be the other way around?

    Please take the black & white glasses off. This slip up was likely brought on by the isolation of command and the long seperations from his wife. The only question we have a right to know is if she had access to classified materials. The rest is between him and his wife.

    Actually, we’ve had quite a few people who did well at their job and weren’t a beacon of moral integrity. Sad, perhaps, but true.

    Whether Petraeus had to go or not (personally, I think that infidelity was a private matter), the storm of coverage it has received is laughable.
