You know, I seem to have missed all of those disclaimers on Hannity’s or Limbaugh’s shows. But, then again, I am not as clever as they are./sarcasm

Danae is the personification of everything that’s wrong with corporate culture / politics in our world today. As corporations and politicians never wake up and smell the coffee, I predict Danae will never do so either.

lol, life is like a box of chocolates, lol. it is always fun to see Danae spouting off “truisms.”

after all, what would business do if it couldn’t lie, cheat, steal and otherwise corrupt and destroy the planet?

Danae is the personification of humanity. Deep down we are all in it for ourselves, a few occasionally rise above the muck for a brief period. All our heroes have something in their background that is not pleasant at best. Look at Christopher Columbus, Abe Lincoln, and now General Petraeus.

I think that this is true about “televangelists,” but not regular pastors. But I agree, when a church gets to be too large all the ‘preacher’ see’s is money signs. I know a pastor that has a shirt that says “religion kills.” He uses it to start conversations.

Danae said, “People want it to be true, too…” Yes, we would like to have a cure for what ails us; yes, we would like to believe that car is affordable; yes, we would like to own our own home; yes, we would like our personal everlasting future in paradise conditions to be guaranteed….and frauds take advantage of our hopefulness, rather than helping us achieve what we want. Shame on them.

Void where prohibited. Must be 18 or older to play. Your mileage may vary. Does not include state and local taxes. Dealer preparation fees apply. Batteries not included. Odds of winning are about 1 in 5.5 billion. If symptoms persist, see a doctor. For indoor use only. Not for use as a flotation device. Close cover before striking. Do not attemp at home.

Meh, Politics, business, religion and con artists. All use the exact same trick and it works almost every time.Tell ’em what they secretly want to hear. (“The world is all about/for you”)Scare the hell out of them by telling them they are about to lose all they have. Then..Offer to sell them a beautiful fix that only the politico, padre, business shill or con man can offer.

Rinse and repeat as often as possible for as long as the sheep have anything to be sheared of.For a money-man it’s create a need by telling someone they can’t live with out the product or because someone else they admire has it they won’t be cool/successful or what ever if they don’t buy it.For politico’s its “The sky is falling! The ___ are coming to take your ___ away.”For religions its “Your going to hell if you don’t obey. Or if you allow X to happen the world will end and you’ll all be Looooooost”

We all know the truth. The really sad thing is that we all sit around complaining about it, but do nothing to change it. Maybe if we all stopped looking up to any other human, knowing that they are just as imperfect as us, then humanity just might unite.

The “religion” and the parent bodies are the problem, as I see it. The original message (which has become distorted over time) was all we need..I am not a believer in a “god” but as a philosophy, Christianity and Buddhism are as good a way of life as any.

One shouldn’t generalize about these things. The church I attend is committed to “taking the love of Christ into the world.” Our donations support many programs that do just that.

You know, that is more or less exactly what the hero of the ancient Chinese book, Romance of the Three Kingdoms, did. Cao Cao put up posters telling people that the king had ordered something. Admitting that it was false he pointed out that everyone else wanted it to be true so when the king actually did find out about it he would probably order it. Remarkable historical example.

First of all, whether Hostess made Iron Kids or any other multigrain product is basically irrelevant to my actual point; which is that there are plenty of personifications of what’s wrong with us, culturally and politically, these days. Second; If I were to go up to, say, 100 total strangers and ask them who made Iron Kids Bread, and then asked 100 more after that who made Twinkies, how many correct answers do you think I’d get on each? I’d be willing to bet real money that I’d get more correct answers with the “Twinkies” question than I would with the “Iron Kids” question simply because Hostess has become better known for it’s junk food than for it’s breads.

As to my perceived “ignorance”, I’ll leave that for the other readers to judge and comment on.
