I’ve twice the trouble with my father: his birthday is two days after Christmas.

I always remember plus I know my mates likes and dislikes. I am the perfect gifter. I lack all sorts of other skills , but I am the King of giving fantastic gifts.

If he looks at everything in the store, maybe he will remember…or collapse.

Maybe he can discreetly get Mike to ask? Now that I think about it – discreet? Not one of John’s strong points!!

John should adjust to the times. Everyone just creates an e-wish list at their favorite stores.

Mine is Christmas Day, our anniversary is the day after. My honey being there with me is gift enough. Forty-six years and counting.

My birthday was 4 days after Christmas – which I am eternally grateful. I was named for a man that fell off a donkey, If I was born on His birthday, my name was to be Carroll or maybe even Carol.Yes, my parents were that cruel.

@ sjsczurek ~ Is it sexist stereotyping if it’s true? The only way I ever received what I asked for from my ex-husbands at Christmas was if I provided a detailed list, including the store to get the best deal at! I remember leaving a particular ex (who shall remain unnamed) hints one year – a couple of store ads on the kitchen table with the hoped-for items circled with red marker, stars around them, arrows pointing at them with, “I’D LOVE THIS FOR CHRISTMAS!” in big bold letters. And we’re not talking big-ticket items either. We were not well off so whatever I asked for was very reasonably priced and on sale. He would get me the most gawd-awful gifts (like he didn’t even know me or what I liked) and claim he didn’t know what to get me. After a few very disappointing Christmases (birthdays and Valentine days), I just started buying something special for myself rather than grow resentful. Yeah, good times, good times…. o_0

I give gifts on “Denys Finch-Hatton Day.” (When is that? Whenever it needs to be).

I have usually been able to give my love a decent gift at Christmas. There were times when I wished she would have told me in advance. This year she did and I am eternally graterful. I put it on lay-away the other night.
