Why are Republicans so hung up on Ben Ghazi? I mean sure, he was a fine actor and he died on Obama’s watch (Feb. 3, 2012), but he was 82.

OK, sure he was the first “Brick” in “Cat On A Hot Tin Roof”, but more people know Paul Newman from the film. Is it because of “Road House”? “The Big Lebowski”? I wouldn’t think he’d be that big of an issue…

Living in NY, I can tell you that the government agencies at all levels have done a remarkable job. FEMA has gone door to door in hard struck areas reaching out to people in need of help. They have opened up field offices so people can apply for help.At the local level, most of subways and flooded tunnels for automobile traffic became fully operational within 10 days of the storm. Read today’s article in the NY Times about the restoration of the subway system.Restoration of power is the responsibility of the power companies, which are privately run. They need more work crews. They also have to be cautious of possible power surges that may cause fires after the power is restored.

Thank God there’s at least one network not completely cheer leading for O. Now that the election is over the rest of the liberal (mainstream) media are reporting about the horrible response to Sandy and soon I’m sure we’ll be hearing a WHOLE LOT more about Benghazi. Hillary is already bailing out before the real fit hits the shan.

The difference between you and me is that I am where the hurricane hit. I know for a fact what FEMA is doing here. As for Obama lying, if you have a CIA operation center being attacked, maybe it is his decision not to make it public. Again, Darrell Issa and his Republican colleagues outed a covert operation in their desire to destroy the President.

Fox isn’t “news”. That more people were killed, and wounded, in Tucson when Gabby Giffords was shot, than in the “Benghazi event”, is ignored by Faux, and right-wingers and must I say it , “gun nuts” here at home?

It is a dangerous world out there, yes, but when our own streets are as dangerous as in Libya, or many “war zones” around the world, maybe we should rotate, and adjust our view?

Believe it or not, it takes time to restore the broken infrastructure. FEMA isn’t a bunch of magicians who can clap their hands and make everything work again. I’m sure the people there are frustrated, but they can see close up the level of the damage, and they have to realize how long it’s going to take to correct it. But I’m sure they appreciate your efforts, sitting at your computer, probably far away from the action, griping like you have a clue. Here’s an idea to allow you to be part of the solution instead of the problem; make a large donation to the Red Cross.

^Nope! Marine commanders were begging State and Reagan’s people to move their troops OUT of the barracks in Beirut, because they KNEW they were targeted and sitting ducks. Reagan’s people refused to listen, or act!

@fritzoid, the reason they’re hung up on benghazi is the fairy tale sean hannity and fox news are telling about it. same type of story that led to the democrats losing so badly at the polls in this presidential election cycle.

and for those of you talking about beirut, howzabout the one about the president that ignored multiple warnings, including one from ben ladin on 60 minutes, that led to the largest american loss of life in a single instance on US home soil?

i know it’s almost impossible to believe MY REPUBLICAN PARTY was responsible for the attack on the world trade center AND the pentagon on 9-11, 2001.

If Obama is a “murderer” for what happened in Bengazi (sp?), then, going by that “logic”, George Bush should be executed for the mass murder of thousands of people since “911”

The rest of the World is soooo relieved that the US voters finally realised that Faux “News” and Rush Limburger are nothing more than biggoted right wing propaganda machines; to be NEWS, you have to deal in FACTS; congrats to Obama, we Canadians love you!

If there is one thing that is certain it is that the purely private power companies are doing the very best that they can to get the power back on as soon as possible. And that is not government, it is capitalism. As long as the power is out, they are losing money big time!!

As far as I can remember FEMA was not blamed for such outages in LA either. In fact FEMA is generally designed as an after the fact operation to help in rebuilding after such disasters. Disasters that are usually far too large for individual state resources to handle!

And HOWGOZIT, stop with the sour grapes already! Unless you wish to be linked with the likes of Donald Trump and Karl Rowe?

But I know from past posts that although you are very conservative, you are too intelligent to want to be linked with the lunatic fringe of the conservative portion of the Republican Party!

President Obama won the election every bit as fair and square as Mitt Romney lost it. And Mitt Romney was by far more gracious in defeat than that lunatic fringe is even now!!

I don’t know if we will ever have another candidate measure up to the way our community organizer prez was able to get out his base! Many say that the Obama campaign picked up where the Bobby Kennedy campaign left off in 1968,quite some time ago. I have heard that from Jeff Greenfield who was in the RFK campaign and others.

The Bush response was too little too late after Katrina. Obama has been on it, in terms of Sandy, from the beginning. He started planning for Sandy in 2009, when he hired someone who is qualified to head FEMA.

There will be a recovery under the Obama administration. It may not be as large as we would like, but he had a HUGE hole to climb out of, thanks to Bush. At any rate, we are on our way to pulling out of our economic funk. We are pulling out of 2 wars, another super important part of the Obama administration. Obama has a plan, a la President Clinton. I know a lot of folks didn’t like Clinton either. I don’t know what they didn’t like about him— was it the peace or the prosperity?

Gen. Petraeus dies on the sword to protect obama, just like Hillary. Go figure, just Chicago thug politics once again. We’ll see how far over a cliff this country goes with another 4 yrs. Many, many businesses have already announced layoffs after he won his 2nd term, lets see how many months it takes us to tick back up to 10% unemployment…..2 or 3? Maybe February after they let go the seasonals. What do you all figure the unemployment figures will be once those tax hikes hit? 11%? He can’t suppress them forever! Fascism like our dictator in chief wants won’t work in this country people, you can’t control businesses the way he wants and keep people employed. I could go on and on but I’m just planning on hunkering down for the next 4 yrs and laughing my ass off as obama voters lose their jobs, houses and retirement. The only sad thing is those who didn’t vote for him will lose all that too….

This cartoon perfectly epitomizes the elections – and, in fact, the future of the Republican Party.Republicans. Turn off the Fox. Turn off the Limbaugh. Join us here in reality. Offer viable, fact-based solutions. Or fade away completely.
