Average family will see another decrease in household income, this time 3500 a year in higher taxes. These clowns, yes both of them, better wake up.

If I recall the Reps built this part of the bridge, then created a committee that was to design the rest. The committee really did try and came up with a design which the Dems accepted but the Reps rejected. I think they thought this would influence the election enough to win. My dollar is on the table says they jump, expecting that to make them look good and fiscally responsible. Two years from now, after purposefully doing nothing perhaps the electorate will see the light and elect some Dems and Reps who can think.

Part of wisdom is knowing the difference between a problem and a crisis. The national debt is a problem; it’s not a crisis; there’s time to work on it in a sensible fashion. The so-called fiscal crisis was manufactured for political reasons. The problem of the debt was used to create a political crisis. If we could put the politics aside we could find solutions to the problem.

And how is their debt? Oh right, the highest in the country. But that must mean they don’t tax enough, right? Oh yeah they have one of the highest tax rates in the country. How could this be? Hmmm…….

The massive debt is the cumulative effect of Grover Norquist’s Tax Pledge, just like California’s revenue problems have snowballed since Prop 13.

Oh heck, I was going to reply, but you just are not worth the time it would take to use my keyboard. I would rather do something constructive, like play “World of Warcraft”!

Then Boehner needs to go. 3d party will never fly, but it’ll lose us the Bill of Rights.

@ feverjrProp 13 is not the cause of the massive debt in California, the spending habits of the majority Democratic legislature certainly is. California is by far the worst example of a nanny state, legislation for the sake of legislation, justification of ones job to “fix” problems thatr don’t exist and create more government. Califonia has the highest business taxes, the highest personal income taxes, the highest gasoline taxes, one of, if not the highest, sales taxes, at some point someone needs to realize that you can’t spend yourself to prosperity. Of course the libs think that just a little more is all that’s needed to fix the problem, but that little bit more is never enough and so they raise taxes, fees or something else to generate more income for the goverment. The morons took the bait again this year, prop 30 raises taxes again with, was advertised as a way to improve schools, very little if any of that money will ever be used for schools. Morons . . .
