Are you kidding? According to the NRC we need many more rulings until they get their way! Next, we’ll have rulings on person-hood! Then on citizen-hood!

Or make you pay for insurance that MIGHT be used to pay for someone else’s cancer. Or pay taxes that might save someone else’s business. It’s called “living in a country.”

what about women having men put on a condom. and we would have less std and abortions. I see no problem with abortion but not to use as birth control.

My way, or the high way? I’ll take the higher way. The way of women and mothers, those that have the most at stake in this. The decision is and should foremost be theirs.

If men had to deal with 9 months of weight gain and morning sickness after a night’s indiscretion, (not hangovers, morning sickness) then contraception would be effective, easy, and FREE.And abortion would only need to be a sad but necessary medical procedure when the mother’s life is in danger. But since it’s so easy for a male human (I won’t call them MEN) to walk away saying “Not my problem. You can’t prove it.” abortions will happen.

The White Evangelical point of view does not sell in America. The Fundamentalists have taken a shelacing in the culture wars.

I’ve voted Republican all of my adult life but it’s getting harder and harder to support a group that is so backwards on social issues. Worse yet they are also becoming backwards on science issues. Apparently the Republican party is willing to toss away Women, Young Adults, and College educated men so that they can pander to the pews.

The tea party bought them some time in 2010 and they squandered the opportunity by focusing on abortion and gay marriage (divisive issues) rather then paying attention to pocketbook and regulatory issues (consensus issues).

To all you Fundamentalists – I get it. You don’t like that a woman can terminate her pregnancy at will. In return you should get this – I don’t like you pressing your religous views on me. Who, reading this, thinks the Republicans would have kept a lazer focus on the fiscal issues if they had come to power. We all know that they would have spent 3 days on it and then debated about whether or not a woman should have to endure an invasive ultrasound before she was allowed to have an abortion.

Go back to your churches Fundamentalists and stare at each other because that is the only mirror into which you can look and see a reflection of your own views.

Nothing says liberal like killing men before they can take a breath of freedom..Nothing says “conservative Christian” like trying to force your beliefs on everyone else.

@onguard. if it were only true. abortions have been effectively illegalized in about 1/2 the states in the union. when the restrictions are such that abortion is not available in those states, the procedure is effectively outlawed.

Ima, it’s obvious that you just read the headlines, and then lie through your teeth by changing “conservative” to “liberal”.Or else you’re just completely ignorant about the Republican war on women, one of the major factors in Obama’s win.By the way, what percentage of all the innocent unborn children on the planet did your god slaughter in the Flood?

Charlie555 has obviously realized that he has lost the argument…you can tell by the way he is now pretending that abortions are done at 9 months…and claiming that a “man” has only two cells.

Charlie555, it’s also science that most human fertilized eggs spontaneously abort…miscarriage. Since you consider all of these to be “men”, should a death certificate be issued for each miscarriage? How would you make sure these are all accounted for, since many are missed by the woman? Should all these “men” have full funerals?…I assume that’s what you must do. And I guess in Charlieworld, I can claim an income tax deduction the second my wife gets pregnant? What if we have the zygotes frozen for possible later implantation…a deduction for each of those, too?I assume you’ve thought all this through, right?

Charlie, you claiming that any woman can get an abortion on a viable fetus at nine months is just like the Republicans claiming there’s widespread voter fraud so they can pass laws to suppress Democrat voters.

Charlie, find a clinic anywhere in the country that will do 9th month abortions on a healthy mother/fetus, and post the phone number or URL here. You have the whole internet at your disposal to help you. There must be some, because why else would you keep bringing it up as a problem??

You can’t find any places that will do a 9th month abortion on healthy mother/fetus, yet you continue to give that as a reason for banning all abortions. So don’t talk to me about being “honest”.My best friend’s wife delivered their first child who turned out to have Potter’s Syndrome (short version: no kidneys), so it died shortly after birth. They discovered their second fetus had the same, so to avoid the mother the anguish of carrying a baby to term only to watch it die a slow death when it is separated from her bloodstream they aborted it…and went on to have two beautiful daughters. If your goal of forcing your religious beliefs on them had been enforced, think of the suffering she’d have had to endure. I’m sure that would put a smile on your face.

The above cartoon is why Washigton, Jefferson, Madison, Adams, and the rest put Seperation between church and state into the Constitution. It’s God AND Country, not God or Country. You can worship freely, just respect the rights of others to worship, or not worship, while living a free life.Respectfully,C.

The left position is that life begins when the government says it does; a pro taliban and pro Nazi position.

The right refuses to look at the issue honestly, hung up on religious views that have very little chance of becoming the majority view. The longer they bring abortion up, the more successful the left will be at scaring women.

The only thing missing here is honesty. From both sides.

i consider myself left. i don’t scare women (often) and i don’t believe that life begins when the government says it does. life and death and fairness and unfairness are everywhere. the accept your frame, Neither the government, NOR any religious waco belongs in my (or any other individuals) business.

what goes on between a woman (or a man) and her/his doctor and inside his/her body is a PRIVATE matter. and privacy is protected by the bill of rights.

Wow, Charlie, you really outdid yourself this time. First, you deny any love she had for the child, both before and after learning it had no chance of life. Second, you’d happily condemn her to carry around a child for several months knowing it was all for nothing beyond giving it a slow, painful death. All so you’d have the pleasure of forcing your religious mythology on her, and making her suffer. You truly disgust me.

Truly disgusting, and he must have a god-like ego to have the gall to make those comments about a lady he’s never met and knows nothing about. Can you imagine what it would be like to spend months enduring a pregnancy knowing your baby will die of renal failure soon after birth?? Can you imagine what it would be like to be the type of person who would smugly force that on total strangers???I can’t.

Ah, so in addition to not feeling any love for her children, my friend’s wife is also not a “normal mother”.Keep digging, Charlie. You don’t have much further to go before you hit bottom.Interesting that my friend’s wife avoided having a baby suffer to death, instead aborting it before it had a functional brain capable of feeling discomfort, freeing her body to produce the healthy daughter that followed. But of course you think it much better for both mother and daughter to suffer. Why do you hate women and children so much, such that you want them to suffer? Have they done bad things to you, or is it just the warped way you’ve interpreted your religion? Bet you enjoyed that story of the woman dying in Ireland…I hope you read it.Say, on your planet, do zygotes have the right to own guns?

You need to work on your reading comprehension, Charlie. No one considers it normal, and few people other than you would have the ego and stupidity to claim some woman they know nothing about doesn’t feel such love. I guess that’s what it takes to maintain your religious mythology, but it makes you pretty disgusting to the rest of us.You think it much better for both mother and daughter to suffer. Why do you hate women and children so much, such that you want them to suffer? Have they done bad things to you, or is it just the warped way you’ve interpreted your religion?

Oh, yeah, that was an excellent response, Charlie. All they did was deny what happened, and then deny the Catholics had anything to do with it. That approach sounds familiar…where have I seen it before? Oh, yeah, it’s the same approach they tried with all their priest child molesters, until they number of cases became so overwhelming they couldn’t cover it up any more.

The abortion fight isn’t about control. It’s about fighting for basic human rights for all human beings. I’m a female, atheist Pro-Lifer, and I couldn’t care less what people do in their bedrooms, but once the taking of a child’s life is in question-which it is, in abortion-that’s where we as a civilized society HAVE to start caring.

You should try it, then, Charlie, instead of just trying to force your religious mythology onto everyone else. And the fact you act surprised that an atheist would (1) be honest, and (2) be in favor of human rights for everyone, makes you even more disgusting. You obviously know nothing about atheists.
